I was at the Los Angeles, CA temple in mid-May for my brother’s sealing/wedding and there were some of the same concerns about the lawn of the temple being brown there as well. Just prior to this wedding, an article about the brown lawn at the Los Angeles temple had appeared in the LDS Living magazine which re-printed an article from The Los Angeles Times: http://www.latimes.com/local/westside/la-me-temple-drought-20150511-story.html . This article gave me enough pause that I decided to get the scoop by calling the temple itself to see if there would still be beautiful places to take pictures, something that I would imagine would be important to almost every bride and groom. I was assured that there were still many beautiful, photo worthy areas featuring flowers, reflecting pools, rock gardens and trees.
After reading that aforementioned article, it made me proud to know that our church was trying to be responsible in its water usage, while still maintaining beautiful grounds. And true to form, there WERE still many beautiful garden spots for purposes of contemplation and picture taking. In another article on the subject in relation to some of our other temples, the church is utilizing xeriscaping in other drought prone area temples, which again makes me pleased: http://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/lds/lds-church-conserves-water-lets-l-a-temple-grass-go/article_964610dc-b120-5865-8311-604c4bd56617.html.

Then I edit the video down to about a minute, picking just the best parts. Perhaps I should do a blog post about this with pictures, I know that would interest me if I were reading it 🙂
